Projects
Beyond the studio, DrawDadDraw has had the privilege of creating art for real places and real people — commissions born from community, connection, and the belief that art belongs in the world around us.
The Rock Church — Romeoville, IL
VBS Kids • Snow Mountain Theme
Created for Vacation Bible School at The Rock Church in Romeoville, IL, this piece was part of a large-scale set design for the Snow Mountain theme — bringing an immersive winter landscape to life for the kids. A reminder that art isn’t always for walls; sometimes it’s for wonder.
Jitters Coffeehouse — Joliet, IL
N. Chicago St & Cass St • Original Watercolor • May 14, 2026
Sitting inside Jitters Coffeehouse on a quiet afternoon, the charm of their historic storefront on N. Chicago St and Cass St in Joliet was impossible to ignore. This watercolor was painted on-site, capturing the outdoor seating, the iconic Jitters sign, and the warmth of a neighborhood gathering place. The piece was gifted to the coffeehouse — and it was hanging on their wall that led to the first commission for J&M Jewelers next door. Sometimes the best opportunities come from simply showing up and painting what you love.
J&M Jewelers — Joliet, IL
Commission • Requested by the Owner’s Daughter
After seeing the Jitters watercolor displayed in the coffeehouse, the daughter of J&M Jewelers’ owner reached out to commission a painting of their own building — the beautiful corner brick storefront that has anchored that block of downtown Joliet for generations. This was a milestone: the first commissioned work for a local business, and proof that art displayed in the community creates its own opportunities. The watercolor captures the building’s distinctive architecture, green awning, and the warmth of a family-owned business that has served the community for decades.
